ZEvRA Commits to Gender Inclusion in Electric Vehicle Sector

Celebrating Progress & Building the Future: Gender Inclusion in ZEVRA.

Following International Women’s Day last Sunday, the ZEvRA Project is proud to reaffirm its commitment to fostering an inclusive research environment in the electricvehicle sector. Our recent internal assessment highlights the critical role of gender balance in driving scientific innovation and technological excellence.

Current Success Pillars 100% Leadership Representation: All respondents confirm that women hold key decision-making roles, serving as Work Package Leaders, Managers, and Steering Committee members

Inclusive Professional Development: 93.8% of participants agree that training and upskilling opportunities are equally accessible to all genders.

While we celebrate these milestones, the “Pipeline Gap” must be addressed, the challenge of sourcing and hiring technically skilled female experts for diverse engineering roles. To further enhance our impact, our the ZEvRA project has identified key initiatives for improvement, including the implementation of flexible working arrangements and gender-neutral parental leave (each supported by 66.7% of respondents), alongside a commitment to regular gender pay reporting (40%).

Let’s keep building towards a more inclusive and innovative future for the European EV sector.
