Last Thursday, the ZEvRA Annual Conference brought together partners and external stakeholders for a dynamic day of discussion, collaboration, and vision-setting around accelerating circularity in the automotive sector.
Three panel sessions explored some of the most pressing questions shaping the future of circular EV design — from applying the 9Rs, to dismantling barriers across the value chain, to the skills needed for tomorrow’s EV workforce. Hybrid sessions on recycling-based aluminium foam also highlighted promising advances in lightweight, circular material solutions.
💡 Key Insights from the Day
• Circularity will only accelerate through harmonised metrics, transparent data flows, and effective Digital Product Passports.
• OEMs emphasised the urgency of design-for-reuse, standardisation, and material traceability to unlock value across the full EV life cycle.
• Collaboration is no longer optional, cross-sector partnerships are essential to overcoming regulatory, economic, and technological barriers.
• ZEvRA is shaping the foundation for this transition by enabling common methodologies, boosting circularity awareness, and building the skills needed for Europe’s future EV workforce.
A big thank you to all speakers, contributors, and participants, both onsite and online for the insightful discussions and engaged exchange throughout the day.
And special thanks to Eurecat – Technology Centre for hosting and ensuring a smooth and successful event.
Together, we continue driving Europe toward a more circular, resilient, and sustainable EV future.
