Are you ready to challenge your ideas and put your circularity skills to the test?
Join the Gigacasting Circularity Challenge, a ZEvRA online-Hackathon organised by Centro Ricerche Fiat, the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna and the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia
This online hackathon is an opportunity to tackle one of the most exciting challenges facing the future of sustainable mobility: How can gigacasting become truly circular?
Working in four interdisciplinary teams (max. 24 participants in total), you will be challenged to combine your technical knowledge, creativity and problem solving skills to design a credible and impactful circularity pathway for a gigacast automotive component. Your team will identify a target component, select a suitable alloy family, and develop an innovative route to maximise material value retention, reuse, remanufacturing and recycling throughout the lifecycle.
Whether you are a student, researcher, engineer or circular economy enthusiast, this is your chance to test your skills on a real industrial challenge;
- Collaborate with participants from different disciplines and backgrounds.
- Explore innovative approaches to circular product and material design.
- Contribute ideas that can help shape the future of zero-emission vehicles.
The hackathon will be held on 26 October 2026 from 8:30 – 17:30 CET.
